FAQs
Is this Amish Furniture?
Depends what you mean. Several of the guys who work here are Amish. They are our neighbors and good friends. However, we do not advertise as selling "Amish Furniture." (See next Question) However, if by asking this question you mean "Is this quality furniture, Handmade with Dovetailed Drawers, Mortise and Tenon Raised Panel Ends, made out of Oak, Cherry, Walnut and other hardwoods that is built to last?" That I can answer Yes to.
Are you Amish?
If you come to my website, see my computer generated drawings, phone/fax numbers and still think I'm Amish… I guess you can go ahead and think that. (Our family actually goes to the Grace Brethren Church of Millersburg. When you come visit the area we would love to have you join us for Sunday Morning services.)
What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You're welcome to come outside those times, but there will be nobody here.
How do you price your custom furniture?
Our prices are based on the overall size of the unit and then adding in for doors, drawers, carvings, lights, and other embellishments.
Why don't I see any prices on the website?
Each item is made to order to match your needs. Therefor, each item is priced slightly different. When you find an item that is similar to what you are looking for, just hit the Request a Quote link at the bottom of the page, tell us what you need, and we'll give you a quote.
Is your furniture expensive?
Depends who you are comparing us to. Quality is never cheap. So if you are comparing us to your local big-box department store, we will definitely cost more. But I would also urge you to look at how long the piece will last and the amount of customization we are offering you.
Is your furniture cheap?
No. However, if you compare us to National Name-Brand manufactureres with big shiny catalogs, slick marketing campaigns, and lots of retail showrooms... we are usually lower price, with better quality and more customization.
Can I order Online?
Sort of. It works best if you call us, that way we can make sure we're all on the same page. However, if you have an aversion to talking to other people or enjoy being a total "cyber-entity" then we can work via e-mail. Find the item in our furniture gallery that closest matches what you are looking for and hit the Request A Quote link at the bottom of the page. We will then get back to you with a quote, then drawings. We have quite a few customers that we have built things for that we have not met in person.
How do I place an order?
Once we have worked out what you want and how much it costs then we ask a 10% deposit to get your name on the list. The balance is due either when you pick it up, when we deliver it to your house, or prior to shipping if it is shipped via common carrier.
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes, up until we start actual construction of your custom designed items. After that you can still cancel your order, but the deposit is no longer refundable. We always double check with our customers before construction begins to make sure there are no last minute changes or other schedule complications.
Who is the prettiest girl in the world?
That's an easy one. My wife Anita. Thanks for asking.
Once I place an order can I make changes?
Sure, you can make any changes you want up until you have approved the final drawings.
How do I care for my new furniture?
The finish that we use is resistant to scratches, water, alcohol, and even nail polish remover. Best way to care for it is with plain old soap and water. You can also use a lemon oil. Just please stay away from furniture polishes that have silicon in them.
What happens if my new piece breaks or fails to perform as it should under normal use?
Bottom line – we want happy customers. We'll do everything we can to fix/replace your furniture.
What happens if my
my furniture?
"War Wounds" incurred in life but outside of normal use can be fixed. Bring it back or wait till we get in your area and can stop in to fix it. We charge just enough to cover our costs for this type of furniture repair.
What happens if I throw my new desk out my second story window on purpose, back my SUV over the splintered pieces, start it on fire and dance in the ashes?
You are a very irresponsible person and deserve the crater in you yard, flat tires on your SUV, Charred flowerbeds and singed toenails you received from this ordeal. Just don´t expect us to build you any more furniture.
